Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

BandBoard ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have when you use the BandBoard website, applications and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you sign in with a third-party identity provider (such as Google), we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider.

  • Profile information. Details you choose to add, such as your address, zip code, talent profiles, instruments, band memberships and fan page.

  • User content. Songs, lyrics, setlists, recordings, photos, venue details, messages and other content you create or upload.

  • Usage information. Basic technical data such as log entries, browser type and pages visited, used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve the Service;

  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure;

  • Power features you choose to use, such as showing your general area on maps, listing your band's vacancies, or making your fan page public;

  • Send service-related email such as invitations, notifications and messages you request;

  • Enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect the Service and its users.

3. What Other Users Can See

BandBoard is a community service. Certain information is visible to other users depending on your settings — for example, your name and instruments on public talent listings, your band's public page, your fan page if you make it public, and your approximate location (zip-code level, never your street address) on community maps. Your email address is only shown to others if you explicitly make it public in your profile settings.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With other users, as described above and as controlled by your settings;

  • With service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, storage and email delivery), bound by confidentiality obligations;

  • With third-party services you interact with through the Service (for example, Google Maps when viewing maps);

  • When required by law, legal process or to protect the rights, safety and property of BandBoard, our users or the public;

  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this Policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme choice. These are essential to the operation of the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete content you have created at any time, and you may request deletion of your account by contacting us. We may retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as security and fraud prevention.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and third-party authentication so we never store your password. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update your profile information at any time from your account pages, control what is publicly visible (such as your fan page and email visibility), and delete content you have created. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
